In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of CCP Games, every purchase of a Fanfest 2017 ticket before January 1st, 2017 will be rewarded with an Enforcer class CONCORD cruiser.

Heavy Interdictor Balancing Tuesday, March 14, 2017

In a change designed to improve balance for fast attack ships of all kinds, the propulsion scrambling effect has been moved from the “Focused Warp Disruption” Heavy Interdictor script and moved to a new shorter range “Focused Warp Scrambling” script. This will allow Heavy Interdictor pilots to choose between three separate and balance modes for their Warp Disruption Field generators, each with their own strengths.

Clone States Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Cloning scientists in New Eden have been hard at work with the aim of bolstering their military capability of capsuleers for use by the Empires. In the process, they’ve developed a new method of cloning that revolves around two new clone states, Alpha and Omega.

Omega clones will be familiar to our current pilots, and will operate just like a subscribed character does today. Alpha clones will be accessible for free, without subscription, and will be capable of training an assigned set of skills themed to a character’s race.

The skill set that Alpha Clones can train is race specific to the character that is training, and includes skills for flying tech one frigates, destroyers and cruisers, and for basic access to trading and industry.

For more information on Clone States, take a look at the Dev Blog linked below.

Command Bursts Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Command Bursts will completely replace the existing Warfare Link system in our November release. These new high-slot modules can be fitted to any ship that can currently fit Warfare Links, and allow any ship fitted with these modules to boost their fleet members, within a specific area in space. Once applied, these boosts will continue even if you go out of range of the boosting ship, or warp, or the boosting ship dies.

Command Bursts are high-slot modules that can be fitted to the same classes of ships that can currently fit Warfare Links. There are five types of Command Burst module: Armour, Shield (formerly known as Siege), Information, Skirmish, and Mining. They must be loaded with charges, and this charge choice will determine which bonus the module applies to fleet members. Charges can be swapped in the field, but long reload times mean the timing and choices of a boosting pilot is important.

"Imagine a smart bomb that buffs your friends instead of damaging ships and you'll get the idea" - Team Five-0

Fleet Boosts no longer ruled by Hierarchy Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Boosting pilots will need only be fitted with the Command Burst modules to be able to boost any members of their fleet in range. The boosts applied to fleets are no longer tied to the boosting ship's position in fleet - any fleet member can provide bonuses to any fleetmate that is within range. More pilots can now be fielded with the ability to help their fellow fleet members, and they will be able to change the type of boosts they give during combat, as the situation around them changes. We are looking forward to seeing what the capsuleers of New Eden do with this more engaging and active fleet gameplay.

Tactical Destroyers Balance Pass Tuesday, November 15, 2016

With the release of EVE Online: Ascension, we’ll be taking a look at tactical destroyers will a view to making a balance pass that levels the playing field a little more.

Most of the changes coming are a direct result of the incredibly constructive discussion that we’ve had with both Council of Stellar Management delegates, and members of the player focus group that was formed to look into the usage and balance of Tactical Destroyers.

Effect Generators for Titans Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Titans will be receiving a special new Effect Generator capability that replaces their current passive bonuses. Titan pilots will be able to fit these new modules (one per race) that warp the fabric of reality across a very large area of effect. Unlike Command Bursts, Effect Generators affect ALL ships within their defined area (friend or foe).

New Visual Feedback Tuesday, November 15, 2016

In the new Command Burst system we are ensuring multiple layers of feedback so everyone involved can understand the situation. Command Bursts will have a clear visual effect indicating the area in which ships will receive the buff, Combat logs will state how many pilots have been affected, and the "effects bar" will indicate when you are receiving a buff, and from where.

Explosion & Wreck Renovation Tuesday, November 15, 2016

With the arrival of EVE Online: Ascension, our audio and graphics team have been hard at work with a complete redesign of the explosion system in EVE, in order to compliment the recently introduced visual damage system.

Regardless of whether you’re on the receiving end or not, you can now sit back, relax, and wait for the bang. In addition to this, the team have also been hard at work renovating wrecks too, in order to ensure that they better represent ship wreckage, and fit more seamlessly into the new visual damage and explosion systems.

This year the Independent Gaming Commission has secured a set of Blood Raider vessels, and their engineers have completed making modifications that provide their own insane spin on these fearsome hulls.

With qualifiers occurring during the first weekend of October, then the knockout stages following on October 8th and 9th, and Grand Final on October 15th and 16th, this year’s tournament should be a spectacle to eclipse all others.

Pirate Faction Capital Ships: Serpentis Tuesday, June 28, 2016

The Serpentis, with the help of their allies the Angels, have made large leaps in capital ship design and construction thanks to vessels and techonlogy stolen from the Gallente Federation, and acquired through other illegitimate means.

The first breed of pirate capital ships will see the introduction of Dreadnought, Supercarrier and Titan class hulls fresh from the Serpentis Corporation's shipyards in Fountain.

Details in the dev blog

Pirate Faction Implants - Serpentis Tuesday, June 28, 2016

As well as working on their own breed of capital ships, the Serpentis Corporation has been hard at work creating a new set of implants that give capsuleers more tactical options in combat, and a more direct way to focus and specialize their flight skills.

Legalized Combat Boosters Tuesday, June 28, 2016

In an effort to curb organized crime and restrict the flow of revenue to illicit traders, CONCORD has made the decision to legalize all combat boosters used by capsuleers.

With these boosters having proved to be relatively safe, this opens up a whole new range of tactical options for combat pilots across the cluster.

Bulk Fitting Tuesday, June 28, 2016

As Corporations, Alliances and Coalitions grow in size, more tools are needed to ensure that infrastructure scales to meet the growing demand for fitted ships, logistics, and supply during combat.

Bulk fitting allows pilots to fit multiple ships at the same time, in order to save time and ensure that everyone from a small gang to a fleet of epic proportions can be reshipped and back in the action as soon as possible.

New Structure Assault Mechanics Wednesday, April 27, 2016

Even the mightiest of player structures in the highest of High Security space will still be vulnerable to attack at some point. Here is a quick overview of what both sides can expect.

Damage Mitigation - "The biggest blob wins" may be realistic but it's not very fun. Incoming damage will be mitigated at certain thresholds based on Citadel size and role.

Assault Duration - Structure assaults are expected to take around 30 minutes to complete, no matter where the structure is deployed. This gives a large enough window to make it engaging and a small enough window to make it inviting to those who enjoy shorter gaming sessions.

The Capital Connection - Bringing HP damage back into structures is not a coincidence. We want both structures and capitals to have a strong tie with each other.

Visual Cues - Structure lighting, signs, docks and other effects will give visual cues as to the state of the structure.

Full details on the system are coming soon. Watch the Dev Blog page for more info.

Force Auxiliaries: New Support Capital Ships Wednesday, April 27, 2016

As the Carriers move into their new fighter combat role, Force Auxiliaries will take their place as the remote repair capital ships. While limited in combat capabilities to a drone bay, they excel at logistics and support, being the only capital class ships with bonuses to remote repair modules or capable of fitting Triage modules.

Force Auxiliary Capitals will also have fleet hangars, ship hangars, and refitting abilities accessible to all members of their fleet.

New Anti-Sub Capital Weapons Wednesday, April 27, 2016

A whole new genre of weapons will open up a myriad of fresh tactical options for capital pilots. New capital weapons that track faster and hit harder will be available, enabling fitting options so that capital pilots can actively and effectively engage sub-capital vessels, bringing more exciting and engaging gameplay options to those who fly capital class hulls, and organizations who have the muscle to deploy capital fleets.

Coalition Influence Map Monday, March 28, 2016

This map shows the status of Coalition influence across the whole cluster of New Eden before the attack launched by the Moneybadger Coalition against Imperium territory, which is diplayed in yellow at the northern end of the map.

The conflict centered around the constellation of 1P-VL2 in Tribute, with the two largest engagements occurring in the systems of M-OEE8 and J-GAMP.

The total number of pilots involved in this contact topped out at an astonishing 5,806, making it the second largest battle in the history of EVE Online, second only to the epic clash in B-R5RB.

What Is World War Bee? Monday, March 28, 2016

This player created video by Hendrick Tallardar of The Moneybadger Coalition gives more information on the history leading up to the Battle of M-OEE8, and how the hostilities between the two opposing coalitions came to be.

Given that this video is produced by a member of The Moneybadger Coalition, some may consider it biased more toward their views.

The Scope - Hostilities escalate in northern regions Monday, March 28, 2016

Alton Haveri reports on the escalating conflict in the northern regions of New Eden as the Moneybadger Coalition continues to push north, setting their sights on the Imperium home system of VFK-IV.

With Imperium leadership about to make their regular “State of the Goonion” address, the fate of VFK-IV hangs in the balance after the MBC rolled through the TNT capital system of UMI-KK last night, forcing the system’s Administrative Outpost into Freeport mode.

This video reports on the next stage of World War Bee, which is upcoming after the Battle of M-OEE8.

  • Territorial Claim Units

Asset Vulnerability Window Tuesday, June 2, 2015

Having your assets attacked and raided while you are asleep is never fun. Under the new system, alliances can set vulnerability windows to increase their opportunity to defend their assets. This also means attackers looking for a fight have a better chance of getting some good PVP rather than just shooting at structures. By default, each new structure is set to the alliance's chosen vulnerability window, however the alliance can later change that on a per structure basis.
