Resource Distribution Update Tuesday, September 8, 2020

Back in March, the EVE Online Ecosystem Outlook blog described the plans for resource distribution in New Eden. This endeavour started last December with asteroid belt changes, then moved on to ore anomaly changes and a moon resource shake-up, and now the fourth step of the Shortage Phase is planned to go live in mid-October. Alongside the final steps of the Shortage Phase, the first step of the Redistribution Phase will also go live in the middle of October.

Forsaken Fortress Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Coming 26 May, further improvements to the gameplay mechanics of structures will be introduced in the Forsaken Fortress update as part of the Eclipse Quadrant.

Since the introduction of structures with the Citadel expansion, thousands of structures have been built in New Eden. Many of these structures have been used for a variety of purposes by players, with some structures acting as Headquarters, key strategical beachheads, or even as logistical warehouses. For some of these structure deployments, their use may have dwindled over time to the point where they are no longer maintained by their owners. As a result, these forsaken fortresses proliferate in space as ambitions, conflict, and entrepreneurs rise and fall in New Eden. Cleaning up your sovereign space by removing these abandoned structures can be a frustrating experience, a topic that has been brought up by the community and CSM alike.

Broker Relations Tuesday, March 10, 2020

The Broker Relations update will be launching 10 March, and included in the release will be changes to the mechanics around creating and updating orders on the in-game market.

Last summer, permanent changes to both the sales taxes and broker fees for the market were implemented. Having monitored player behavior before and after these summer changes to taxes & fees, further alterations to the market will be made.

The intent behind these upcoming changes is to support a healthy and live open market, allowing competition to remain fair between players. The prohibited use of automation techniques used by malicious players on the in-game market is a frequent subject of discussion, so there is absolute commitment to fighting bots in New Eden. Needless to say, the market and the behaviors of players when these changes go live will be closely monitored.

Remote Repair Changes Tuesday, April 9, 2019

In the April release, we are introducing a new system for all remote repair and remote capacitor transfer modules which will reduce their effectiveness as more are used on the same target.

This change is designed to promote more destruction in EVE’s largest battles where capital and super-capital defensive capabilities have been extremely strong.

Capital Balance Tuesday, April 9, 2019

Several balance changes will be coming in this April release targeted towards Capital Ship operations.

High Angle Weaponry damage application from Titans is halved. Fighter damage application against all smaller targets is also reduced. The Networked Sensor Array will now disallow ship warp while it is active. And Ship Insurance prices have been adjusted reducing payouts also affecting standard capital ships and supercarriers.

Sub-Capital Balance Tuesday, April 9, 2019

Also coming this spring is a hefty set of sub-capital changes aimed at giving new life to laser platforms as well as some small adjustments for a few of EVE’s biggest performers.

Medium Beam Lasers receive increased ranges, as well an increase in large energy turret damage for the Abaddon. And the Harbinger, Cyclone, Caracal Navy Issue, Vexor Navy Issue, Gila, Ferox, and Corax all receive a balance pass increasing their effectiveness for some ships, while decreasing effectiveness for others.

War Declaration Balance - Part Three Tuesday, April 9, 2019

The April release will include the next highly anticipated step in the war declarations revamp: the removal of neutral assistance from highsec wars. CONCORD and the Crimewatch system will now prevent third parties from interfering in war combat through remote repair and command bursts. As always, Safety Settings at either yellow or green will ensure that logistics pilots avoid any unwanted CONCORD entanglements.

Three such fixes will be deployed with the March release, which are covered in detail in our dev blog.

War Declaration Balance - Part One Tuesday, December 11, 2018

There has never been a better time to join a corporation in New Eden!

The December release will see the first iterations on balance to war declarations, with further tweaks to come in early 2019. Corporations in high-security space are now more protected, as they are only vulnerable to war declarations if they have certain assets in space – either an Upwell Structure, a Starbase or a Customs Office.

Nullification Changes Tuesday, October 9, 2018

With the October release, capsuleers will benefit from changes to interdiction nullification that will see the effect removed from combat interceptors (the Claw, Crusader, Raptor and Taranis).

These changes aim to preserver the unique role that interceptors play as scouts and tacklers, while introducing more significant trade-offs for the powerful mechanic that is nullification.

Triglavian Balance Iteration Tuesday, October 9, 2018

Based on community feedback, the Damavik will see some slot layout changes with this release that aim to make it a more versatile frigate.

Losing a low slot and gaining an extra mid slot should make the Damavik more versatile, giving a wider range of tactical fitting options.

Light Balance Pass Tuesday, July 10, 2018

With this release, capsuleers can enjoy a few light ship changes to keep the meta fresh.

With the deployment of the July release, we'll see the addition of a drone bay to the Zealot, a slight reduction in the max velocity of the Retribution in order to bring it in line with the rest of the Assault Frigates, and a switch in bonuses for the Claw that will see it's Minmatar Frigate bonus change from turret damage to rate of fire.

Abyssal Loot Balance Tuesday, July 10, 2018

With this release, intrepid capsuleers from across the cluster who dare to explore the abyss will benefit from improved loot drops and more incentive to dive in and take on the Triglavian Collective.

Abyssal loot drops have been updated to be more rewarding at all tiers, with Triglavian Survey Data appearing much more frequently, more common drops of Gravid and Unstable mutaplasmids in Tier 3 abyssal pockets and changes to weapon drops that provide blueprints rather than modules.

The Abyss Awaits... Tuesday, May 29, 2018

With New Eden thrown into chaos after a new threat emerges on the fringes of known space, the CONCORD Assembly enlists the assistance of capsuleers to venture off the edges of the map and into the unknown. Beyond charted space lies Abyssal Deadspace, the hazardous domain of a radically advanced civilization, The Triglavian Collective.

This new frontier brings the promise of technology light years ahead of the most advanced in New Eden, but the risks involved to acquire it may prove too much for all but the most skilled of pilots.

A new horizon has been drawn, and the beauty of this new domain is matched only by it's unforgiving ferocity. New vessels, weapons, technologies and unimaginable wealth lie beyond, but only for those intrepid few who dare make the journey into the abyss.

Mutaplasmids Tuesday, May 29, 2018

The Triglavian Collective possess biotechnology with the capability of altering resources and modules in the abyss. This technology takes the form of artificial mycoplasmid colonies that can be harvested from within abyssal deadspace, and unleashed on existing modules.

These mutaplasmids will alter the properties of modules in unpredictable ways, sometimes increasing their bonuses and making them more efficient, and other times rendering them less capable than before.

Capsuleers should be careful when taking the risk on potential experimentation, but the rewards for being bold could vastly increase the value of their hardware.

Entropic Disintegrators Tuesday, May 29, 2018

An entirely new weapon system with wildly different characteristics to anything seen in New Eden before, Entropic Disintegrators have no falloff range and build power over time, reaching a peak damage discharge 50% greater than their initial damage at activation.

In the hands of a skilled pilot these new weapons can prove devastating, however capsuleers will need to manage range and utilize solid tactics, as Entropic Disintegrators deactivate and discharge once their target drifts out of optimal range, resetting their damage potential.

Jump Fatigue Iteration Tuesday, March 20, 2018

Jump Fatigue will see some significant changes in this release, including a 95% reduction in the cap on fatigue accumulation, ensuring that capsuleers are free to move around more freely and engage in combat further afield.

A reduction in the Jump Fatigue Timer takes the maximum possible fatigue accumulation from 4 days to 5 hours, and also results in a Jump Activation Cooldown now taking the maximum possible cooldown from 9.6 hours to 30 minutes.

More Balance Iteration! Tuesday, March 20, 2018

Pilots across the cluster will benefit from balance changes to several hulls with this release that are aimed at keeping the combat meta in New Eden fresh and engaging. Increases in lock range and cargo capacity for battleships as well as the ability for Attack Battlecruisers to fit Medium Micro Jump Drives are coming, as well as a number of tweaks to several Battlecruisers and Heavy Assault Ships.

Details in the dev blog

The Monitor Tuesday, March 20, 2018

The Monitor is the first ship in a new group called “Flag Cruisers”. It will be completely focused on survivability at the expense of all other attributes, intended for pilots who absolutely need to be able to survive uncloaked in a battle. It has no cargo bay, weapons, or drones, and focuses on staying power to allow fleet commanders and other important pilots in a major engagement to stay on the field longer.

Assault Frigate Balance Pass Tuesday, February 13, 2018

The February Release will see a substantial balance pass on Assault Frigates.

This is the first stage of creating a powerful distinction for Assault Frigates and Heavy Assault Cruisers in specific roles, while avoiding too much direct overlap with classes like Tactical Destroyers, Battlecruisers and Strategic Cruisers.

With this change, capsuleers will benefit from increases to velocity, reductions in mass and better capacitor capacity on their Assault Frigates, as well as redefined roles and improved slot and weapons configurations for several individual hulls.
